Lafourche Parish Recent Arrests
The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office Zuercher roster is the first official stop. Anyone checking a recent local booking starts there. Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex is known as LPCC. It receives people arrested by LPSO deputies and by police in Thibodaux, Lockport, and Golden Meadow. It also holds people brought in by Harbor Police, Louisiana State Police, federal agencies, and other authorities. So the arresting agency and the holding agency can differ. Read the agency and hold fields. Don't assume every LPCC entry began with a sheriff's arrest.
Lafourche Parish publishes no official feed guaranteed to list every arrest from the past 24 or 48 hours. Intake, identification, and data entry all happen before anything posts publicly. LPSO promises no set posting interval. A name missing shortly after an arrest proves nothing either way. The current roster is not an arrest-history database, either. Entries change after release or transfer. The underlying booking and court records remain.
| Window | Best source | Custody scope | Main limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Current or same-day attempt | Official Zuercher roster | Current local custody and agency holds | No guaranteed 24-hour window or public posting time |
| Recent mirror | RecentlyBooked, Arrests.org, Busted Newspaper | Unofficial copied snapshots | May be stale, incomplete, or retain released entries |
| Multi-day narrative | LPSO News and Crime/Arrests | Selected announced cases | Not every booking receives a release |
| Historical log | Houma Times and Gazette PDFs | Past daily or periodic lists | Current publication cadence is not confirmed |
For same-day digging, Arrests Last 24 Hours gives the focused fallback chain. The Police Blotter covers the multi-day mix of official releases, newspaper logs, and archive records.
Never blend these windows into one claim about who was arrested. A roster result means the person is still in local custody. A dated news release means LPSO chose to announce one case. A newspaper PDF preserves what was printed for a past period. An aggregator shows what its crawler kept. Each source answers a narrower question. Note the source date. Compare agency fields. Get the booking summary when the exact intake time matters.
Arrested Last Night in Lafourche
Someone arrested in Lafourche Parish last night usually shows up on the jail's roster quickly. Search by full name first. Then add the arrest date. Was the arrest late? Widen the date range by a day. A booking that crosses midnight can land on either side of the line. Matching names need care, too. Confirm the date of birth first. That keeps a lookalike entry from passing for the right person in Lafourche Parish. Nobody listed? Call LPCC at (985) 449-4458 and ask about custody routing. Or file a narrow records request once you have solid identifying details. The jail publishes no average intake lag. A release, transfer, or outside hold can change what the public sees. For updates over time rather than a single list, the VINELink Custody Check page walks through Lafourche LAVNS searches and alerts.
Search the Lafourche Parish Roster
The official roster filters by name, race, sex, in-custody status, and arrest date. Visible columns may include name, race, sex, date of birth, cell block, and arrest date. Dig deeper. The record can also hold the held-for agency, hold reasons or charges, bond details, a release date, and a mugshot field. Not every item gets its own column. Remember that cell block describes current housing. It does not show where the arrest happened. An arrest date is not always the exact booking time.
| Search field | Use | Important limit |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Start with the jail-record spelling | Confirm identity with date of birth |
| Arrest date | Narrow recent entries | Not a guaranteed intake timestamp |
| In custody | Separate current status | Released records can disappear from view |
| Agency and holds | Explain city, parish, state, or federal involvement | A hold is not a conviction |
| Mugshot | Configured record field | Blank in the live September 2026 review |
Search in a short sequence:
- Open the official Zuercher roster and enter the legal name.
- Add the arrest date or other filters only when needed.
- Open the result and compare date of birth, agency, and holds.
- Use the Clerk or records custodian when a released or older entry is missing.
The official LPSO inmate search is shown in this neutral roster capture.
The available controls tell you this is a current-custody tool. It is not a complete historical arrest log.
The Lafourche Parish Sheriff App layers on news, crime reports, tips, and interactive resources. Reach it through its Android listing and its Apple listing. The store text promises no booking-photo feed, so confirm custody through the web roster.
The roster has no published historical retention period. It runs live and on demand. Housing, holds, and release values can shift at any time. A legacy LAVNS roster remains reachable and shows a timestamp plus a strong legacy disclaimer. But it is not the preferred current route. That older interface helps explain why copied services may expose a different record or photo state. It should never displace the current Zuercher portal. Nor should it displace a direct LPSO response or the court file.
Where Lafourche Arrests Are Published
Official sources each answer a different question. The roster covers present local custody. LPSO News supplies selected arrest narratives, while a city police release may describe the local investigation. LAVNS tracks custody changes. The Clerk records what happens once a case is filed. Put simply, no single source gives a complete Lafourche Parish arrest history.
| Channel | Official? | Photos? | Best use |
|---|---|---|---|
| LPSO roster | Yes | Currently suppressed | Current local custody |
| LPSO news | Yes | Sometimes in selected releases | Case narratives |
| Clerk records | Yes | Not a photo feed | Filed case and disposition |
| Local newspapers | No | Varies | Historical or reported context |
| County aggregators | No | Often | Secondary leads only |
Unofficial county pages appear at RecentlyBooked, Arrests.org, Busted Newspaper, and Mugshots.zone. They copy rather than create records. Their entries can lag, omit arrests, or linger after the official custody view changes. Confirm any match with LPSO or the court. The RecentlyBooked Lafourche page shows how an unofficial recent-posting interface differs from the sheriff's roster.
Note: Its dates and counts are snapshots, so confirm every possible match with LPSO or the court.
Recent Arrests by City
Three municipalities in Lafourche Parish run their own police departments. None posts a separate public booking roster. Every arrest they make is typically booked at LPCC. So a Lafourche Parish arrest record can sit in two places: the city agency that handled the case, and LPSO, which holds the booking itself.
- Thibodaux Recent Arrests covers TPD releases, records contacts, and the LPCC handoff.
- Lockport Recent Arrests explains municipal, parish, state, and possible federal hold layers.
- Golden Meadow Recent Arrests covers the town police contacts, shared systems, and central booking path.
LPCC opened in January 2019. It replaced the old Lafourche Parish Detention Center. Some legacy state listings still carry that former name and the Highway 3185 address. For custody questions today, use the current LPSO LPCC page on Veterans Boulevard. Central booking does not erase the city paper trail. If Thibodaux PD, Lockport PD, or Golden Meadow PD wrote the arrest report, ask that department for its copy. Then ask LPSO separately for the LPCC booking material. A joint case may add an LSP or federal record too. Keep each request narrow.
Lafourche Parish Arrest Record Fields
Louisiana Code of Criminal Procedure Article 228 spells out what a booking must capture. Think legal name, charges, arresting officer, and a short event summary. It also lists others arrested in the same incident. The online roster shows only part of it. A narrow request for the booking summary often beats asking for an entire investigative file. State law lets agencies hold back pending follow-up material.
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Legal name and date of birth | Identity fields that should be checked together |
| Arrest date and agency | When the arrest was recorded and which authority is tied to it |
| Charges and holds | Accusations entered at booking and any added custody restrictions |
| Bond | An amount or condition when entered, not a promise of immediate release |
| Booking number or exact time | May require the requested booking record because it was not a visible roster column |
| Release and disposition | Release may appear in jail data; final outcome belongs in court records |
Charge outcomes live in the courts. Confirm any amendment, dismissal, acquittal, or conviction through the 17th Judicial District Court and the Lafourche Clerk.
Bond takes the same care. A hold-detail amount does not mean release happened or will happen fast. A second agency hold can control the outcome. So can a court condition or a later order. Compare LPCC's current status with the 17th JDC record instead of reading one roster field as the final release decision. After release, the booking entry may vanish while the Clerk's case rolls on.
Lafourche Parish Mugshots After Arrest
The live LPSO roster notice says booking photos were removed while the sheriff updated policies and systems under 2022 Act 494. Mugshot fields on the portal sit blank. That choice shapes what the public sees today. Louisiana Article 234 has since been amended by 2024 Act 281. So the old portal notice is not the last word on current law. You can still request a booking photo from the LPSO Custodian of Records. The public form quotes no photo fee. Narrow the ask to a date range. Add the full name, date of birth, agency, address, and case number when known. Fees may apply under the LPSO schedule. A denial can stem from a juvenile record, protected data, an expungement, a court order, or a lawful investigative exception. Third-party pages sometimes show old copied photos. Those images say nothing about current custody. A sentenced person in state custody shows up in the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections search. Registered victims also have a limited photo-request route through DOC Victim Services. Neither path replaces an LPCC booking-photo request. No booking-photo gallery is hosted here. The blank field and the newer statute are not really in conflict. One describes LPSO's publication choice. The other describes the law after amendment. Ask the custodian whether a photo exists, is releasable, and carries a copying cost. That answer beats guessing. Never pass off an unofficial photo as something LPSO currently publishes.
Obtain a Lafourche Arrest Record
All public requests go to LPSO's Custodian of Records. That is Chief Deputy Roy Gros, P.O. Box 5608, Thibodaux, LA 70302, at roy-gros@lpso.net. The official records-request form asks for a clear date range and identifying facts. It warns that fees may apply, but it lists no dependable booking-photo amount or response promise.
- Identify the record as a booking summary, booking record, or booking photograph.
- Give the name, date of birth, arrest date range, arresting agency, address, and case number when known.
- Ask the custodian for a fee estimate before copies are produced.
- Request a city incident report separately when a municipal department created it.
- Use the Clerk for the filed case and final disposition.
Louisiana R.S. 44:36 sets a baseline. Public records with no other set period stay on file at least three years, subject to approved schedules. The statute does not fix a public lifespan for an LPSO booking photo or roster entry. Chasing an older arrest record? Ask LPSO for its record series or retention schedule. The Louisiana State Archives retention page describes the process. Agencies inventory record series, propose schedules, win approval, then request disposal once a period runs. Archives lists no collection of Lafourche booking photographs. For older material, ask LPSO first. Then ask Archives Records Management whether an approved schedule or transferred collection covers that series. Narrative history may also survive in LPSO news, Houma Times archives, and Gazette booking-log PDFs.
Louisiana Arrest Records and Removal
Louisiana keeps its booking records unusually open. Article 228 makes the booking book and booking summaries available for inspection. R.S. 44:3 goes further. It preserves access to booking records and the initial investigative report. Pending follow-up work, confidential sources, and other exempt details stay protected. On the display side, juveniles never appear in the Zuercher configuration. Lafourche LAVNS excludes anyone 17 or younger as well.
Expungement removes a record from public view. It does not destroy it. Articles 976 through 979 set the rules, with distinct conditions for non-conviction, misdemeanor, and felony matters. Nothing happens automatically. The Louisiana Supreme Court forms packet supplies the official motion, response, order, and fee-waiver papers. The Clerk or a lawyer can sort out a specific case.
Paid mugshot sites carry a legal duty under current Article 234. A remove-for-pay publication must act. It deletes and destroys a qualifying booking photograph free of charge. Seven calendar days is the window after receiving proof of acquittal, non-prosecution, expungement, vacation, or pardon. Keep your paper trail tight. Save the exact page URL, the proof, the request date, and the delivery record. Busted Newspaper and RecentlyBooked both document free request processes. Their house policies cannot override the statute or a court order, though. Never pay an intermediary that insists payment is required. A page can come down. The search result may linger. The search engine's own outdated-content refresh process clears it.
The expungement articles differ in their tests and waiting periods. Article 976 covers qualifying arrests that ended without conviction. Articles 977 and 978 handle misdemeanor and felony categories, each with exclusions and timing rules. Article 979 governs serving the motion on the district attorney, the state criminal-identification bureau, and the arresting agency. No generic online result can decide eligibility. Start with the official forms. Then confirm the specific matter with the Clerk or qualified counsel.
Note: RecentlyBooked's published removal policy describes an unofficial process that must be read alongside Louisiana law.
Since the source can revise its rules without notice, keep proof of every qualifying request and follow whatever statute is currently in force.
Check Lafourche Parish Arrest Warrants
The official LPSO warrant portal asks for at least one search criterion. It will not open as a browsable list of every active warrant. Enter a legal name and narrow the results with care. A returned record can carry a date of birth, charge, bond amount, date, or comment, though a shared name still demands identity confirmation before you act on it. A blank result only means your entered criteria matched nothing public; it is not legal clearance.
The official warrant search displays the criteria-first interface users will meet.
LPSO publishes no standing most-wanted gallery. Instead it offers an anonymous crime-report route, Bayou Region Crime Stoppers at 1-800-743-7433, and P3 Tips. Question any result through official channels. A disputed or possible warrant belongs with counsel, the court, or LPSO, never a bare web result, since a warrant may be recalled, amended, or tied to an identity error.
For your own warrant, focus on verification and lawful resolution. Write down the name spelling and any case identifier. Then call counsel, the issuing court, or LPSO. Skip third-party alerts. And treat a missing public result as no excuse to ignore a court notice. Tips about someone else go to law enforcement or Crime Stoppers, never to private confrontation. Never approach, follow, or confront a person listed online. Call 911 for a true emergency.
After a Lafourche Parish Arrest
After booking, the case moves to court. An arraignment is where charges are formally addressed. Bond sets the release terms. Even so, another hold or a court condition can block release even when an amount appears. The 17th Judicial District Court allows magistrate, bond, and arraignment appearances to use simultaneous audio and video when the division permits it.
The Lafourche Clerk records search spans criminal and civil indexes, with minutes from 2001 and images from March 2018. The Clerk cautions that online materials are released records. The official records stay at its office. When online access fails, go to the Clerk at 303 W. Third Street, Thibodaux, or call (985) 447-4841. Online subscriptions run $20 per day, $50 per 30 days, or $550 per year. Separate systems may require separate subscriptions.
A disposition is the court's final recorded outcome. It can look nothing like the charges filed when the person was booked.
If the Clerk's online service is down, call or visit. Do not substitute an old mirror. Request the criminal index, minute entries, and released images tied to the case number. Minutes capture hearings and orders the jail roster never carries. This layer matters. A roster answers custody only. It does not tell you whether a prosecutor changed a charge or a judge dismissed a case.
Custody Beyond Lafourche Arrests
An arrest in Lafourche Parish is only the start of a longer custody trail. Someone moved into state custody belongs in LA VINE or the DOC phone locator at (225) 383-4580. That system refreshes every 24 hours. Searches work by name, location, or ID and case number, and they also cover probation and parole supervision. It is not a live feed of LPCC bookings.
Federal custody works differently. The Federal Bureau of Prisons locator handles BOP inmates but shows no booking photographs. For immigration detention, use the ICE Online Detainee Locator System and its A-number or exact-name and country-of-birth rules. Keep one thing clear. A federal or immigration hold in LPCC data does not confirm custody in those separate systems and says nothing about immigration status.
Each system covers its own stage. The LPSO roster tracks current local custody in Lafourche Parish, LA VINE and DOC handle state custody and supervision, BOP covers federal prison, and ICE controls its own detainee records. For photographs, apply the source-specific rules in the booking-photo section.
